Earth Energies Kawa Balm confronts discomfort with soothing essential oils.
We’ve drawn from the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to create Kawa Balm which, as the name suggests, has a calming effect on physical discomfort. All too often, aches and pains become an accepted part of our everyday lives. Sometimes this discomfort is due to clear-cut causes such as advancing age, injuries and overuse from sport or recreational activities, while other causes can be subtle and more perplexing in nature.
Nerve and muscle problems can be short-lived , or may continue for months, affecting multiple areas of the body at any time. Longterm, dull and widespread discomfort in particuar can lead to a low mood, sleep disruption and difficulty concentrating during the day. Often the causes of these type of disorders can be tricky to pin-point and resolve, so strategies to help manage the symptoms and minimise the negative daily effects are vital for healing and improving quality of life.
Kawa Balm blends wintergreen, rosemary, camphor, peppermint & clove essential oils in kawakawa infused organic grapeseed oil, and natural bees wax. This combination creates a warming balm that assists with improving nutrient-rich blood flow to affected areas, aids in relaxing muscular spams and relieving tension, decreases swelling, and has a mild anaesthetic action.
Use Kawa Balm for aching joints and muscles, swelling, neuralgic (nerve) discomfort and fibromyalgia, as well as a chest rub for congestion (ensure you keep it away from your eyes).
Kawa Balm is best used just before you jump into a in a warm bed before sleep.
Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food

6 Foods and herbs to assist with discomfort
Green Juices – provide alkaline minerals to support healthy nerves and detoxification. Use (organic/spray-free if possible) kale, cavolo nero, cucumbers, celery, parsley, spinach, broccoli, and any other greens. Add a green apple, pineapple, lemon (the whole thing) and some ginger root for a variety of flavours. These are all potent natural anti-inflammatories.
Herbs – as tinctures from a herbalist, supplements from the health store or as herbal teas – nervine herbs (which act like a soothing balm internally for your nervous system). Include the delightfully named Passionflower, Skullcap, Valerian, St Johns Wort, Kava and Wild Lettuce.
Magnesium – calms nerves and relaxes muscles.
Co-enzyme Q10 – works on the energy centre of all cells, called the mitochondria. This is often dysfunctional in cases of nerve damage and discomfort.
Vitamin B12 – promotes healthy nerves. Take a B complex as well as the B vitamins need each other to work effectively.
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) – an organic sulfur compound that has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and healing properties. Take as a powder added to smoothies or juice, or capsules.
