Our Top 4 Summer Products

Having fun in the sun is what summer is all about for us kiwis. We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches, national parks, lakes, rivers and even mountains to appreciate throughout the warmer months. Nothing beats getting outdoors on a sunny day. It is important to remember though, that summer can bring with it sunburn, chapped lips, heat rashes, sand-flies and mosquitoes, and the odd bruise or scrap – all in the name of having fun, of course. So, we at Earth Energies, have put together a few of our must-have products for this summer. Keep these gems handy to help ensure you have loads of happy, healthy, and very tasty times these holidays.

1. Kawa Gel – first aid in a pot If this product isn’t already in your first aid kit, then is going to be life changing for you. Kawa Gel is used for cuts and grazes; chaffing and dry, wind and sun irritated skin; eczema and hives, as well as boils and if needed, insect bites. Kawa Gel marries a unique blend of key ingredients with protective and healing properties, that make it so effective for this wide range of skin problems. We start with our star ingredient, kawakawa, which we have distilled into a base of organic grapeseed oil – a light, easily absorbed oil that is rich in antioxidants. Kawakawa is native plant with antimicrobial qualities and a rich history of traditional use in Maori rongoa medicine both externally and internally. We also use beeswax sourced from hives on our family farm; beeswax is both protective and regenerative for our skin. Finally, we have added the essential oils of manuka, kanuka, lavender and lemon verbena, and a touch of our kawakawa vibrational essence. 2. Earth Energies Insect Repellent Nothing wipes the smile off your face faster than being attacked by biting, nipping, stinging critters. And boy do they love all that delicious exposed skin!  Because some mainstream insect repellents can contain chemicals that may cause skin irritation or other unwanted side-effects, we have worked with some of nature’s gifts including natural oils, plants and essential oils. In a base of pure sweet almond oil infused with kawakawa leaves, we have added six essential oils with unique properties that combine to deter bugs, and look after our skin. Eucalyptus, lemongrass and citronella, lavender, rose geranium and tea tree oils are a clever blend that helps deter unwanted bugs, and also works to disguise some of our human odours that the mozzies are attracted to.  Brilliant! With regular application Earth energies Insect Repellent truly lives up to its name.

3. Kawa Cream We’ve included our beautiful skin soother Kawa Cream in our top 4 as it is perfect for applying to sunburn, any rashes (yes even those awkwardly situated ones…) as well as bruises and abrasions. A gentle blend of oils and herbs that can assist with skin healing while also supporting the body’s immune system with antiseptic, antiviral and antimicrobial properties, Kawa Cream also doubles a softening facial moisturiser – handy as you needn’t lug your expensive moisturisers around with you in the hot weather. It contains kawakawa infused grapeseed oil, lavender and tea tree (manuka and kanuka) essential oils, and delicate vibrational essences to assist all healing. 4. Crystal salts Simple, but effective – we’ve blended organic Himalayan crystal salt with kawakawa leaves to assist digestion and add a zingy flavour to those fresh fish and chips, impromptu BBQ’s and lazy summer picnics. Yum yum!
